About Makkah Live

Makkah Live is part of the Muslims Around the World network, a family of Islamic websites. Each one does one job and tries to do it well.

Why we made Makkah Live

Quick, honest and calm. Millions of people look for the Kaaba live and for the time in Makkah. We wanted a clean, quick page that tells you the time and the next prayer there, points you honestly to the official broadcast instead of re-uploads, and helps visitors with the etiquette of the Haram (Sahih Muslim 713).

See where you can give, country by country, with every pound shown. Some charities say every pound reaches the cause: see what a 100% donation policy means.

Why there is no video here

We won’t risk sending you to a copy. We don’t embed the stream, because we couldn’t confirm the official broadcaster’s own channel address beyond doubt. Search for the Saudi Broadcasting Authority’s Quran channel by name.

Where everything comes from

Prayer times
Worked out for Makkah by the same engine as muslimsaroundtheworld.org, with the Umm al-Qura method used in Saudi Arabia. The adhan in the mosque itself is the final word; it can differ by a minute or two.
Watching the live broadcast
We point you to the official Saudi channels rather than embed a stream, because many “live” videos online are re-uploads by others. We name the channels; we don’t run or control them.
Etiquette and virtues
Every statement about what Islam teaches names its source in the same paragraph, a verse of the Quran or a hadith with its collection and number, confirmed in the source data behind muslimsaroundtheworld.org.

Who runs it

Makkah Live is made by Muslims Around the World. It is free, has no third-party adverts and needs no account. Every site in the family is listed on the Muslims Around the World sites page. Before any page here is published, an automatic review checks every verse and dua against its source letter for letter, and makes sure each statement about what Islam teaches carries its reference. If you spot a mistake, please tell us through muslimsaroundtheworld.org.

Muslims Around the World is protecting the legacy of Ali Banat, may Allah have mercy on him, and every site in the family is part of that work. Read his story.
